History 1973 to present |
In 1981 the department purchased a 1977 Ford 4x4 pick-up from Kent Boyer in Troy for $3,700 and equipped it with a skid pump and tank that they built for $1,375. It featured a 200 gallon per minute pump and a 200 gallon booster tank. This was the first “Grass Truck” the department had and became known as Grass #5 or Engine #5 and was in service until 2005. The grass truck was disassembled and sold as parts in 2005, the pick-up is in Piqua, Ohio.
